I am a bit of a coffee fanatic, and anyone who has been to my house knows I can offer up about as many coffee choices as your fave local coffee house. So, when I was offered the chance to try Tylers low acid coffee I was thrilled! Before this opportunity I had never even heard of low acid coffee. Here is what they say about this coffee on the Tylers website:
Tyler’s Coffee uses a “Z-Roasting” process that optimizes the time the coffee beans are cooked; the result is high levels of caffeine and free of acid. Benefits of an acid free coffee are tooth enamel is protected and teeth are stronger leading to fewer cavities.
A little cup of java can mean a big problem for stomachs. Acid levels in coffee, as well as impurities and resins, may wreak havoc on the digestive tract. Our customers with sensitive stomachs are relieved to learn that they can still continue enjoying a great cup of coffee whenever they want.
Regular Acid Free
–Rockets you forward with level of caffeine that exceeds most other coffee brands.
–Our computerized “Z-Roasting” system optimizes roasting time to assure that Tyler’s Coffee is acid free with maximum flavor.
Decaf Acid Free
–Tyler’s coffee uses a Swiss Water Based Process to decaffeinate our Arabica coffee beans. Our Arabica beans are shipped from South America to our roasting factory in Arizona.
–We use No Chemicals to decaffeinate our coffee!
My Opinion:
I tried the caffeinated version of the coffee…. I am just not a decaf kind of girl, lol! Tylers strongly suggested that their coffee be brewed with filtered water, as apparently using tap water can make the low acid coffee taste off. This was not a problem as I brew ALL of my coffee with filtered water. They also recommended either a standard drip machine or a French press. I opted for a French press as that is always my favorite method of preparation.
The aroma of the coffee as it brewed was wonderful! As soon as I took my first sip, I fell in love with this coffee!!! It is simply delicious. It is a very full bodied coffee, but with zero bitterness. I like my coffee strong, and even brewed extra strong it was smooth as silk.
My mom tends to not drink much coffee due to stomach issues, so I shared a cup with her. She loved the coffee as well, and noticed no stomach issues at all, even after 2 cups.
I will permanently be adding Tylers coffee to my regular line up of coffees!!
